NoVate Direct Legal Solutions’ Owl, The Birmingham Children’s Hospital Owl, will be flying away to a new home on 15th October 2015 in The Big Hoot Auction.

The Big Hoot, Birmingham’s Biggest Art Event, saw 89 individually designed sculptures nesting across the city of Birmingham for 10 weeks of the summer. The Birmingham Children’s Hospital Owl was designed by professional children’s book illustrator Adam Pryce, and the design was based on the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Adam was inspired by his visits to the Children’s Hospital as a child. The iconic, distinctive, red bricks and slate roof allowed the illustrator to be playful with patterns, shape and colour.

Over the past few of months NoVate has been involved with The Big Hoot initiative organised by the Wild in Art, to raise funds for The Birmingham Children’s Hospital. NoVate have raised a total amount of £790, holding a owl themed baking competition on 12th August 2015 and a family fun day event on 22nd August 2015.

The bake off saw ten participants producing owl themed bakes with the best looking cake being chosen by Laura Richards, Corporate Partnerships Consultant from the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The Family Fun Day saw many family and friends of NoVate as well many faces of the public attend the jammed packed day filled with fun activities such as Giant Games, Face Painting and many Fair Ground games.

On Wednesday 15th October The Big Hoot Auction will take place, where art collectors, owl enthusiasts and Big Hoot fans have the chance to bid for one of the sculptures at the ThinkTank Birmingham Science Museum where further funds will be raised for charity. Tickets to attend the auction can be bought from the Big Hoot website for £20, or email
